MATERIAL GUIDE

Injection moulders — prepare an enquiry for part production.

An injection-moulding enquiry needs details about the part, mould and production volume. The plastic name alone is not enough to define the project.

01

Material, part and mould form one project

ARBURG notes that part design, mould selection and machine configuration depend on the material. Share these details together rather than asking only about available capacity.

02

What should you share at first contact?

Describe the part’s purpose, material, approximate dimensions and weight, and batch size. Say whether a mould already exists or needs to be made. Agree on technical documentation and any confidentiality terms later in the discussion.

03

Trial run and repeat production

Distinguish a trial, a one-off batch and recurring demand in the form. State acceptance criteria, timing and any additional work such as assembly or packaging, so the discussion covers the full scope.
